Gen Z Drinking Rate Climbs To 74%, Passes Boomers' 71%
IWSR's Bevtrac tracker shows boomers now hold the lowest drinking rate of any generation, down two points, as Gen Z climbed from 66%.
- Boomers: 71% now drink, the lowest share among all four generations tracked.
- Gen Z: 74% drink alcohol, up sharply from 66% in the prior survey.
- Overall population drinking rate sits at 76%, two points above Gen Z's new figure.
Why it matters: A generation once declared uniquely sober now drinks more than the boomers it was measured against.
