US Institutional Trust Locks In Below 30% For Fifth Year
Gallup's June 1-15 survey of 1,001 adults put the average at 27%, one point above 2023's record low.
- Large technology companies fell to a new low of 20% trust, down from 32% in 2020.
- Small business is the outlier, holding 67% confidence, the highest of 14 institutions tracked.
- Twelve of fourteen core institutions tracked since 1993 now sit at or near record lows.
Why it matters: Institutions do not need to be believed, only obeyed, and obedience has not dropped a single point.
