Dutch law had no due-care rules for children that age, so the committee used guidance pediatricians wrote themselves in 2024.
- The Beoordelingscommissie LZA/LP&K, the Dutch euthanasia-review panel, ruled in case LK-2026-001 that a doctor showed due care ending a 23-month-old child's life.

- Doctors sedated the child with midazolam and morphine, then gave propofol and thiopental to end life.
