Cincinnati Ex-Superintendent, Contractor Indicted In $8 Million School Fraud
Leondo Davenport took a $4 million kickback from contractor Jonathan Ballew, then the two leased a $30,000-a-month Miami rental together.
- Davenport, 50, led Dohn Community High School in Cincinnati, then ran it as an LLC through 2024.
- Ballew, 62, billed the school through shell companies for training, tech and construction never delivered.
- Proceeds bought a $149,990 Rolls-Royce, a $67,222 Bentley, and the Miami lease, prosecutors say.
Why it matters: A school an operator also owns through his own company has no one left to watch the operator.
