FDA Admits Its Own Cyclospora Lettuce Test Was a False Positive

Taylor Fresh Foods kept its nationwide recall in place even after the FDA conceded no confirmed positive sample exists to justify it.

FDA said the lettuce tested positive July 18, then called it a false positive July 19.
Taylor Farms says no other Taylor-branded salads or kits are linked to the outbreak.
The recall covers iceberg lettuce from central Mexico shipped June 29 through July 16.

Why it matters: An apology from the same agency that ordered the recall changes nothing it already destroyed.
